In celebration of America’s 250th anniversary and the Warwick Historical Society’s 120th year we have created an extraordinary, one-night-only experience.

Saturday, May 2nd | 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM

The A.W. Buckbee Events Center

Step beyond the present and into an immersive evening of history, flavor, and atmosphere with our 18th Century Dinner, hosted by WHS Curator, Michael Bertolini.

The evening will begin with a cocktail reception, where guests will gather over period-inspired drinks and light fare, before moving to sit at a grand table for a multi-course, seated dinner catered by Warwick’s premier culinary team, Plate & Graze Catering with perfectly selected wines.

From the first toast to the final farewell, guests will dine as they would have in the late 1700s. Between courses, Mr. Bertolini will bring the experience to life with engaging insights into the customs, traditions, and social rituals of early American dining—blending scholarship with storytelling in a way that is both enriching and entertaining.

This is more than a dinner—it is an evening of living history, thoughtfully staged to evoke the refinement of an 18th-century table. The Buckbee will be transformed, candlelight will flicker, and a sense of occasion will carry throughout the night. Period-inspired costumes are warmly encouraged.

Step into the past as several of our historic properties open their doors to the public, with volunteer docents on hand to share stories about our amazing buildings. If you have ever thought about joining, this is the perfect opportunity for an in-depth look! Docents will be on hand at each location to share historical insights about these remarkable sites.

Little visitors (10 & under) can become official WHS explorers with our Passport Program! Pick up a complementary passport at the A.W. Raise a Glass to History at Tavern Night 2026 at Baird’s Tavern

The Warwick Historical Society, in partnership with Baird’s Tavern, invites the community to step back in time for an evening of history, camaraderie, and great food at Tavern Night 2026. This highly anticipated annual event will take place on Thursday, March 26, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Baird’s Tavern, one of Warwick’s most iconic and historic landmarks.

Guests will enjoy a lively evening filled with specialty pub fare, beer or wine, and classic tavern games in the very space where George Washington once raised a glass and where Martha Washington spent the night. As a special highlight, docents will be on hand on the tavern’s second floor and attic, typically closed to the public, sharing fun facts of the tavern’s incredible past, including its colonial visitors, Revolutionary War intrigue, and even chilling ghostly encounters.

SPECIAL DISPLAY: See original Baird’s antiques from the Historical Society’s Archival Collection—rarely seen by the public!

Tickets include pub-style food, beer or wine, and access to the historic second floor and attic. Admission is $50 for Warwick Historical Society members and $60 for non-members. Tickets will be available at the door, but advance purchase is recommended through the link below.

Warwick’s Favorite Wine Shop, Pecks Wine & Spirits, will be providing “holiday cheer”.  Food Network star Chef Vanessa Greeley is creating an exclusive, custom-made gingerbread house to be raffled off at the event! How It Works:

• 3:30pm we will raffle off Chef Greeley’s gingerbread creation.

• Say your farewells at 4:00 pm, with a happy holiday send-off and plenty of treats for the season ahead!

Raise a glass at the 44th annual Wine & Cheese Event on Sunday, September 14th, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. This year’s celebration will take place at the historic 1810 House and its stunning Herb Wheel Garden, located at 80 Main Street in Warwick.

Renowned wine educator Amanda Marsh O’Rourke will once again lead guests through an exceptional pairing of unique wines and artisanal cheeses, thoughtfully selected for an unforgettable tasting experience. Featured wines, provided by event sponsor Peck’s Wine & Spirits, will be available for purchase—with $3 from every bottle sold benefiting the Warwick Historical Society.

Warwick, NY – The Warwick Historical Society is thrilled to welcome back Broadway performer Megan Loomis for an unforgettable afternoon of Irish folklore and music. Following the resounding success of Legends of Warwick: Stories & Songs of the Haunted Hills, Loomis returns to the historic Old School Baptist Meeting House on Sunday, March 23, at 3:00 PM with a brand-new solo performance: Between Two Lands: Echoes of Ireland in Story & Song.

This deeply personal and captivating show explores the Irish immigrant experience through live music, history, and storytelling. Armed with multiple instruments, Loomis will take the audience on a journey across the Atlantic—from the mystical landscapes of Ireland to the struggles and triumphs of Irish settlers in America. Through traditional ballads, lively reels, and haunting melodies, she will share tales of Irish rebellion, exile, and resilience, as well as the folklore of banshees, fairies, and the legendary "American Wake"—a farewell gathering for those leaving Ireland, often never to return.

After exploring the mystical market, you’ll join your group and embark on a walking tour through the heart of Warwick’s oldest buildings, some of which are home to eerie tales and ghostly apparitions. As the veil between worlds is at its thinnest, we can’t guarantee what—or who—you might encounter along the way.

The night culminates back at the Buckbee Center, where you can compare stories while indulging in sweet treats, enchanting drinks and additional perusing of the market - bringing this unforgettable experience to a delightful close
